Anti-Static Filter Elements
Swift Filters is a leading US manufacturer of high-performance SWIFTDISCHARGE® anti-static filter elements designed to control and dissipate static build-up in non-conductive hydraulic and lubricating fluids.
We offer direct replacements for most major original equipment manufacturer (OEM) anti-static filter elements.
In addition to our standard product catalog, Swift FIlters can custom manufacture anti-static filter elements based on customer requirements. Our in-house CNC machining capabilities enable us to fabricate end caps, custom connections, specialty seals, and fittings to ensure a secure and leak-free installation.
SWIFTDISCHARGE® ANTI-STATIC FILTER ELEMENT ADVANTAGES
A Better Filter Element for Modern Oil Filtration
Today’s modern oils (API group II oils) have less polarity and low electrical conductivity since they do not contain the heavy metals of previous generation fluids.
These ash-free and zinc free hydraulic and lubricating oils passing through hydraulic or lubricating systems filters can generate electrostatic charges, risking a buildup in dielectrics that can cause a high voltage spark from filter media to the support tube.
Key advantages to using anti-static filter elements include:
• Effective dissipation of triboelectric charges, ensuring a very low charge over long periods of time, mitigating discharge sparking through filter media
• Superior strength and heat tolerance
• Exceptional chemical resistance
• Reduction in oil degradation
• No modifications to current process needed
• Allows lower pressure drop which reduces electrostatic discharge (ESD), a common problem with ash-free and zinc-free fluids
• Reduction in varnish deposits resulting in longer equipment life
• Mitigates circuit component damage
• Significant reduction of metal pitting from static discharge
• Reduces the chance of electric arcing in the presence of volatile material
